Jinxed? I Think Not.

Hey! I’m back from a month-long vacation (spent at home, reading) with a lot of books to review ūüôā Well, as you know I’m always interested in anything written by Meg Cabot, so here is one out of four of her creations I managed to read recently:

Jinx is the story of Jean Honeychurch, mostly referred to as ‘Jinx’ by her family because¬†wherever she goes, trouble seems to follow her around.¬†¬†Jean knows she’s unlucky, but there’s definitely a lot more that she’s still now aware of.

Being a witch, is one those things. . . .

Jean moves in with her Aunt Evelyn in NYC after a love spell¬†goes awry back home in Iowa, and all she hopes for and wants is a new start, away from the past. Of course, that’s exactly what she does not get in her new home.

Tory, her¬†cousin, is¬†convinced¬†she’s the witch, and not Jinx, and then there’s Zack Rosen, the hottest guy around, who also happens to love seals (irresistibility at best).¬†But when Jean manages to get to Tory’s bad side by getting involved with Zack, the guy Tory claims to love, she knows changing towns isn’t a very smart way to escape what’s probably in her blood.

Positive Aspects: Everything! Yeah, I know, I’m biased when it comes to Meg Cabot, but whatever. She really is awesome. Jinx¬†is one of those novels that compel you to do a little soul-searching of your own, find out what is it that you’re most afraid of, and embrace your fears. Because that’s what Jean does–she accepts who she really is, and that’s when she discovers true happiness. With a well-written plot with no loose ends, as is the speciality of every Meg Cabot book, Jinx gives you no reason not to read it. ūüôā

Not-so-positive Aspects: I don’t think there’s anything that needs amendment, except maybe a little more detailing in one or two parts. Rest everything is perfect.

That’s about it, I guess.¬†I finished Jinx in less than four hours,¬†beating my own previous record of finishing New Moon in six hours. So you can understand how unbelievably intriguing it is!

Take my word for it, and if you haven’t already read this book, go read it now.¬†And let me know¬†what you think about it!

Waiting to hear from you!

Love,
